Circing themes in television

Seems like they are more common than I realize.
The Office's most recent episode has Dwight saying he performed his own circumcision as a child.
I was also watching an old episode of Friends where Joey was trying to get an acting part, but he need to be intact to do the part. Monica tries to fashion foreskins for him to look intact with.
Neither one seem to be either for or against circing.

Check out Circumstitions.com for a complete list of circumcision used a theme in movies and TV. They list the scenario and the outcome and whether this is a pro-or anti- statement... usually in the name "comedy".

I SWEAR if I ever make it big, I'm making Intactivism my main cause.

Why can't Intactivism be your main cause now?

I think he means if he ever has that level of celebrity influence.
Imagine how much influence Oprah could have if she chose it as an issue.

Northern Exposure has an anti-circ episode

I have noticed this as well. Last nights ER mentions circ. I am totally keyed into that word I can be kinda distracted by something else while watching TV and if someone says it my head pops up like a dog on the trail

Could there be a better intactivist message than that?
(For those who don't watch The Office, Dwight is the office neo-fascist who is perpetually trying to rule the rest of the office workers with fear and intimidation)

On SNL Weekend Update Thursday, they were mocking the last pres. debate and Obama said that being uncircumcised was one of the things McCain accused him of.

Really!? That is so funny...I don't have TV so I don't get to watch SNL. I have been wondering about Obama's package...that sounds horrible, doesn't it? I did see the Office episode with Dwight. I wasn't sure how to take Dwight's statement in regards to pro or anti circ but pretty much anything is funny coming from Dwight!

The British movie 'Drowning By Numbers' has a boy in it who was curious about his middle-aged friend's circumcised status (not in the sexual way). He ends up performing his own circumcision and is found by his friend (and his girlfriend) lying in bed, white sheets covered in blood.

But that was an all around weird movie.

Yep.

Seeing sickening Jenny McCarthy on the cover of People magazine just highly annoys me because she KNEW circ was wrong and inflicted it on to her son because she wanted a "pretty-looking penis". : But the cover has to do w/ her son's autism.

Now that she has been reseaching vax so heavily I have wondered when and if she will come in contact with the truth about circumcision. I was frustrated too that Jenny was giving parenting advice, writing books about it! She exclusively FF her son, didn't even try to bf, circed him for "a pretty penis" and wrote a friggin book, that LOTS of people bought! I hate to think about all the Jennyists that circed their sons after reading her advice. How sad. If she wants to redeem herself she really does need to speak out against circ, IMO.
