i was recently gifted a sewing machine via freecycle, its a really old really neat looking machine... ( well probably nineteen fifties or sixties or something so not so old, but not brand new) it has a bobbin thingy that is missing or needs replaced. its that thing that goes inside of the machine ykwim? i havent used a machine in sooooo long and i dont know alot about them. any advice or help on where to go or what might be wrong/if its fixable would be appreciated.

I'd just go to your local sew & vac repair & just ask. The places are still out there. If you have trouble finding one go see your local seamstress & ask her where she takes her machines.

Oooooh! I love old machines! What did you get? If you tell me the make and model I can help direct you to the correct parts. Don't fret, replacement parts are out there and easy to get online (at that age of a machine you might not find the right parts at a local store). Did you get the manual with it?
