need stretchy cast off

I need help. I knitted a gaiter on one of those knifty knitter looms. (I know, I'm cheating, but I needed to do it fast) Anyway, the castoff is way too tight. The gaiter won't even fit over my head: I need a way to redo the cast off stretchier like the cast on. I wouldn't mind if the cast off edge rolled like the cast on edge. Thanks!

How about using a slightly bigger needle to cast off?

This is all I use anymore which is A LOT. I could go up 5 needle sizes and it wouldn't work. With that I am able to use the same needle from my project and it comes out perfect.

ETA: I cannot for the life of me get a good sewn cast off. It always looks like crap (like seriously bad...you wouldn't show the item to anyone bad) or too tight. Leave it to me to excel in making it too tight.

The only cast off I ever use anymore is the sewn cast off.
