they looooove coffee... so i think 2 new mugs, some good coffee, and 2 of these would work!

Plus, - it would be a nice introduction to cable knitting for me- lol

That's a great gift idea! I might hit up goodwill for some mugs, and make some of those in Cascade Eco. It would go a long way.

There is also a cabled french press cozy on ravelry I've promised to someone so also a great companion

Great idea.
I have been knitting these - NOT CABLED - as gifts too.

I've been using the wool and a pattern I found at AC Moore that is felting wool. They have been coming out great. I've just done them in straight st with an increase at some point, since they are for a "to go" cup. I"ve also done them ribbed. So cute.

Have fun and good luck with the cable. I'm not brave enough for that yet.

Oh, that's cute. And you are right about it being a good jump into cables. Tiny enough so you'll have instant gratification!

thats why i only make toys and childrens items - LOL - i'm too impatient for bigger stuff!

Thanks my daughter has klean kanteen sippys and this would be perfect for them!
