Thanks for the continued replies.

Not live action, but what about a Miyazaki movie?
My Neighbor Totoro is wonderful,
Kiki's Delivery Service
The Cat Returns
We love the first two, but don't have the third. I'll look into it for sure!

I checked out Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and holy cow --it's 145 minutes long! I know many people skip parts, but we've never done that with movies, so I don't think that's the one for us.

Robin Hood is really interesting. I'll check it out, along with the Water Horse.

THanks so much; it's going to be hard to narrow it down to one!

I recently showed Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) to my 5 and 8yos. I loved it as a kid. But I have to say, I'd forgotten just how many guys get arrows thudding into their chests and fall dead off their horses. My 5yo got bored but my older boy thought it was great.

Yeah, I just checked it out on Common Sense Media. Not for us yet. Their age suggestions are pretty spot on for my DS.

I forgot about The Waterhorse! We just fell in love with it here about 2 weeks ago. Dd (5) loved watching it, but ds (3) wasn't as interested yet. Me, I loved it and want it on DVD.

Still rooting for Babe and Stuart Little...

Charlie and the Chocolate factory!
My almost 3yo LOVES it and often brimgs it to me to put it on. He really watches the movie from beginning to end. Over and over again. He loves Ice age, and many other. He loves animal documentaries, especially about crocodiles :-) it makes him totally go nuts.
He adores Postman Pat.

Animation is a favourite of my eldest, he loves Ice age, Robots, Wall-e, cars, Ratatouille, Lilo and Stitch, Monsters and Co, Garfield, Sesame street, The Incredibles and many more. I'd rather have he would be less into animation and interest a little more in 'real life' movies. They mostly got his attention only once or twice.

What about E.T.???
