I've been trying to remember to do mine in the car. . .in time to music is a fun exercise You can do fast reps and slow "elevator" kegels too. But I haven't been really serious about it and goodness knows it's time!

Also, whenever I drop into a deep squat I pretty much have to--otherwise it feels like things are gonna fall out! And playing with my son I do a lot of squats, so I always try to tuck it up in there.

My yoga instructor always has us do them during deep squats while trying to NOT engage the perineum--that is hard for me, I've never really gotten the hang of it.

About how many do you do a day? I try to do at least 200, but some days I forget entirely. I have read varying things all over the place about how many to do, what kinds (the fast reps vs slow holding ones)...

What is the best to do?

200?!?

your girly bits are like... body builders!

mine belong to the chess club.

Is that a lot? lol

I honestly have no idea what a good number would be... I know my MW was impressed when she felt to make sure I was doing them right. I have just always done them... stumbled upon figuring out how to do them when I was a teen and would do them on the bus ride to school. lol

I wasn't great about it before I got pregnant but things were in ok shape. After DD was born I couldn't even *find* the front loop of the muscle.. I just need to be better about doing them regularly now that I can hehe.

On a kegel related note, I've been intrigued by the product called EpiNO which isn't sold in the US, apparently. Not so much for the 'stretching before birth' business but the 'getting back into shape after birth'. I think the little dial would make it easier...

Thanks for the reminder. I have been pretty good about remembering to do them this pregnancy. I wasn't doing them before though. As soon as I got pregnant, I started peeing when I sneezed. I started doing them almost constantly after that.

not in your ddc but wanted to add my .02
I wasn't so committed to kegels while pregnant with dd.
I reasoned: we're cave women advising each other to do kegels?
Maybe.
Anyway- I didn't do many.
After dd was born I think I started to leak once and thought: "oh no! I should have done them!"
but it was only that one time and everything is as it should be now.
Take that for whatever it's worth

I always wonder if I'm doing them right.
I just want to state how important these are. With my first, I had kind of heard of them and tried to do them a few times. I was not very concerned with them. After I had him, by the time I had the urge to go the bathroom I would find that I was already peeing when I pulled my pants down. I was horrified. I had no feeling at all in those muscles for weeks.

So Kegel, Kegel, Kegel ladies.

Recently I posted a thread about the same thing lol

What made more sense and made me realize I was doing them correctly was

It's more of a 'lifting up' rather than squeezing.

So in and up girls

This is the third time I've done Kegels just because I saw this thread. My girlie parts (and DH) thank you!
Another great time to do them, in bed with dh

lovermont, I think cavewomen used to do a lot more squating, which I think naturally builds up those muscles, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I did read an article once that suggested doing too many could make birth harder. I'll see if I can dig it up. I guess like with everything else it's about moderation, and doing just enough not to pee your pants when you cough.
