I have learned so much about improving my family's health from the years of reading it. I am very grateful I found the board while pregnant and it gave me the courage to delay vaccines when my daughter was born at first. Then it gave me the information (links to published studies) to complement my own reading to decide to refuse vaccines all together for my dd and for our family.
As a family, we aren't sick very often, and this past week, we all got the same virus for the second time since she was born, and it is so fascinating to watch our immune responses. DD got it first. She went to bed healthy. In the night she spiked a horrible fever and had restless sleep and needed to snuggle more closely to stay warm. She felt like an oven. She woke up her normal self. That was it.
I got it a few days later and didn't process it as well, but I learned not to fight my fever and was out of play 24 hours, normal in 48. My husband who I think has the weakest immune system and gut flora of all of us due to his repeated antibiotic use as a kid is in it now, so I don't know how long he will recover. We were both vaxed as kids and had lots of autoimmune issues that are under control now through good diet.
My DD's immune system is so strong. I respect the decision to selectively vaccinate if that is what a parent feels best, but I still feel that from a wellness standpoint, I would rather my daughter have the ability to ward of all viruses more easily than attempt immunity for a seasonal flu or measles, for example. And my bf who had delayed all vaxes for her babe is going to start giving him a few now. I personally don't think it is worth the risk to interfere with the gut and in turn, the overall immune function of the body.

I doubt that.
