My LO is due for his 6 mos. shots tomorrow. I've researched the ones he gets and the ingredients in them. I'm getting really nervous about him getting them and just don't have a good feeling about it.
I am a FT working mom who goes to school as well...I feel like I haven't researched enough...
Can someone help me with some quick info or advice or soemthing?

If you're nervous and have a bad feeling- WAIT. There is no hurry. Take your time and research until you're sure of your decision.

I suggest that you reschedule that appointment, rather than give in to possible scare tactics under duress.

If you have a bad feeling, listen to it. Reschedule the appointment and research some more.

Any advice on where to look...I've looked under some of the stickies on the thread.
Maybe I'm just ignorant about the info I'm looking for....

What info are you looking for specifically?

I'm not even sure. I'm interested in finding info on delayed vaxes or schedules for spreading them out.
He's scheduled for four shots tomorrow...one of them has 5 vaccines in it! My common sense and logic lead me to think that is a lot at once but I'm just going on feelings...
none of them contain thimerosal though...

What I personally suggest is to make a list of all the vaxes and all the diseases.

Find for each disease- current occurrence, symptoms, complications, chance of complications, treatment, chance of death.

Find for each vaccine- ingredients, available solo or only combo?, adverse reactions, chance of reaction, chance of death.

then weigh the two against eachother.

For disease info- CDC, old nursing books etc.

For vaccine info- manufacturers, VAERS

good luck!

To me, some of the facts is that I don't want anything that is from a human source going into my child's body. (Yes, this is from a Catholic source, No, I'm not Catholic, but I still find the information useful)
Also, there is so much research you can do, I'm still looking into homeopathic choices.

Just look at your choices, first. Also, if you do choose to do some vaccines, then at least don't do more than one at a time and look at the ingredients to make sure it's the safest...that is available.

You may want to check out the Selective & Delayed forum.

Thimerosal is not the only thing to worry about. Also, combo vaccines have more preservatives.

At this point you can't make a decision about selective/delayed because you don't even know which, if any, you are prepared to do. You do not have to do any and if you feel you haven't researched enough you shouldn't; once the vaccine is injected into your child you cannot undo it. You could cancel the appointment and reschedule it for a later time.

Check out this site: Inside Vaccines

And answer these:

1. Name of the disease
2. Description of the disease
3. Length of time from initial infection to end of all symptoms
4. Infectious period
5. Normal symptoms of the disease
6. Known serious consequences of the disease
7. Proportion of persons infected developing serious consequences
8. Transmission route of the disease
9. Prevalence of the disease
10. Treatments of the disease and efficacy of those treatments
11. Relevant research about the disease
12. Name of the vaccine
13. Company that makes the vaccine
14. Contents of the vaccine
14A. The significance of whether or not the vaccine is live
15. History of development of the vaccine
16. Known side-effects of the vaccine and rate of incidence of those side-effects
17. Possible side-effects not yet acknowledged by the vaccine maker
18. Relevant research into the vaccine
19. How effective is the vaccine at preventing the disease?
20.What is the vaccine meant to do? (Many vaccines are not meant to prevent infection or transmission).
21.Number of cases reported each year.
22.Number of deaths reported each year from the vaccine and natural disease.

Hmmm... is there currently any single online source of this data? If not, would it be worth buidling one? I build websites for a living. I'm already having ideas about how all of this data could be organized.

WAIT WAIT WAIT.......listen to your gut. It is talking to you for a reason! You can always vax later if that is what you decide after you are FULLY INFORMED. You can never take them back once they are in there.
I would look into the vaxes proposed and read the package inserts throughly to start and them look up all of the preservatives in them and learn about those. You said that none of the vaxes have thimerosol. Are you sure? did you read the inserts? or are you taking your peds word for it?? Many of them contain "trace" amounts of Thimersol (your ped will say its not in there because its such a small amount its not even worrth talking about) The fact remains that that small amount if often still higher than what the EPA states is safe for human comsumption. Also keep in mind that multiple shots are given so if each one has "trace" amounts, there will be a cumulative effect.
Check out www.novaccine.com to learn about vaccine ingredients and more. I also reccomend checking out Dr. Sherry Tenpenny's books or DVD's. They are very infomative and all backed by documented research www.sayingnotovaccines.com.
Take your time and do not let doctors bully you!

I've read so many posts on these boards by well-meaning parents who had a "bad feeling" about the vaxes, and let their children be injected anyway...and regretted it immediately.

Please listen to your mommy instinct. You can always vaccinate later, after doing your research, but you can never, ever take it back once it's given.

Listen to your gut mama! It is telling you something. Call and reschedule the appointment. Devote some serious time this week and weekend to researching the vaccines. Come here to ask questions, read websites, books, everything that you can get your hands on!

Trust me mama, you will regret not listening to your instinct.

Yet another wait till you have done your research.... one can always vaccinate but can never undo a vaccination/s

Have you read Stephanie Cave book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations?

I like to read the CDC Pink Book.

I have already learned that my mommy instinct is NEVER wrong.

Yours isn't either.

There is just white noise making it hard to hear what we are trying to tell ourselves.

You are so much more in the driver's seat than you seem to realize. Cancel the appointment and get the info you need. If there is any anxiety in your decision, you haven't researched enough yet.

You can do this.
