Digital Camera Recommendation

Thread Starter
Dh and I are thinking of getting dd (2.5 yo) a digital camera for Christmas. She loves using ours, but we always worry about her dropping it or breaking it in some way and would love to get her one of her own. Any recommendations for one that is relatively unbreakable and hopefully inexpensive? TIA!

My DD has the Fisher Price one, I forget what it's called. . .it was $50, seems indestructible, comes in cute colors and is easy for her to hold. It doesn't have much memory (although you can buy extra, I believe) and the pictures aren't high quality, but she likes taking pictures with *her* camera, you know? It's been great to suggest she get her camera and take pictures when she wants to play with ours!

Although, I have learned to be wary when she has the camera and I am changing clothes. . .had to delete a couple pictures there.

My sister bought my DS the fisher price one when he was 4. Two years later it is still going strong. Its been dropped quite a bit. I just hook it to my Mac and the photos load right into iPhoto.

My boys have the V-tech one. They LOVE it. It also has a couple of games on it which I am not crazy about, but they love to play them. It also shoots videos. That is ds1's favorite feature. They have been dropped repeatedly and are still going strong.

we have the Fisher Price one. Works great

Our 3 yr old has dropped her camera about 3 times every time she's played with it lol. Still going strong

we had/have that fisher price one and it stinks!! My kids never thought it was fun because it doesn't take good pictures. My 4.5 year old actually uses ours pretty good, and my 2.5 year old is learning. I was thinking of finding non-kid ones that are a little more durable

We got dd a camera when she was 3 1/2 for Christmas (2 years ago). We actually got her a real camera which she loves. We got it online at Ritz camera and got the warrenty on it which if anything happens to it they will replace it. We looked at the fisher price one but couldn't see spending that kind of money on something that doesn't take average pictures. The year we got dd's camera the fp one was running around $80 and we got dd's for $100 plus the cost of the warrenty in the day after Thanksgiving sale.

She takes the camera everywhere and has taken pictures of everything. It has also taught her to be responsible for it since its a real camera instead of a toy (which is what she would have seen the fisher price one as). We got her a Nikon Coolpix L4. She knows how to turn it on and push the button. Its really a simple digital camera that does take good quality picture.
