Dance Lessons in the Midcoast Maine Area

Hi all,

looking for a place that my 3 yo daughter could begin dance lessons? She looooveees to dance. I would like some place with variety ie ballet/tap/jazz/hip hop etc that is semi serious. I don't expect her to be the next prema-ballarina or anything but I would like it to be someplace where dance is respected and that the only goal is not to get me to buy her expensive costumes for that end of the year recital! Hope that makes sense...

Anyhow- I am in Waldoboro so someplace within a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes would be great. Thank you!

We love our Royal Academy of Dance studio. You can do a search to see if there's one by you. It's VERY serious, but for us that's great. My daughter has taken there since she was 5 and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. I've seen the others, it's fun, it's social, but for us it's a serious $$$ and time investment and I want her taught in a precise way. RAD is only one way, but we love it!

my daughter has done 2 years with Miss Emily at the Rockland School of Dance, located at the Lincoln Street Center in Rockland. It's great. The little ones do ballet and tap. The end of the year thing is cute, but not overdone. She does have a website..here it is: http://www.rballet.org/home.html
