1 cent books on amazon.com?

I was looking at used paperbacks on amazon.com and saw that some are only 1 cent plus shipping. Does this mean that they are just giving you the book if you pay shipping? Has anyone ever ordered one of these books? What kind of condition was it in? anyone know anything about this?

They usually don't come from Amazon directly. They let people sell through the site as well . I get lots of books this way. They usually list the condition that the book is in the description.

It's a really great bargain, especially if you find a seller with lots of books you want because they typically cut you a deal on shipping.

I think that the shipping is marked up just enough that the seller is making at least a small profit off the book, although not much.
