Tahini

Thread Starter
Does anyone know how long an opened can of tahini lasts? Do you store it in the fridge after opening? I have been, but I'm not sure if it is necessary. Is it like peanut butter and can go in the pantry?

Does anyone have any good recipes so I can use it up? I think I bought it for hummus but am wondering what else I can use it for. Thanks!

I made these after someone posted the recipe a month or so ago

I used wheat flour and they were REALLY good! Even my super picky dd ate them

I keep mine in the pantry, inverted actually so that the separated oil can be on the bottom. It works sometimes.

I use it as you'd use peanut butter - add to hot cereal, mix with honey for a mock-halwah, put on crackers with jelly (I used to make tahini and jelly sandwiches but since I've gone gluten free...).

Really, you can sub it for any nut butter in most any recipe, imo.

Mine says to keep it in the fridge but it will last quite a while in there. If yours is in a can you'd have to put it into another container, of course. I think it will last a few months at least, like other nut or seed butters.
