Does anyone know the CSA in the Portland Maine area? We will be moving there next month, and although I think the growing season is done there, I wanna get hooked up for the spring.

my personal recommendation after an amazing season even with the funky conditions we had this year is willow pond in sabattuss they have a portland delivery. there are many closer farms and a wonderful wonderful farmers market but we've been too a few farms and this by far surpassed my expectaions!

I subscribed at Willow Pond Farm years ago before we moved & I got my own garden. It was wonderful. Here's the website: http://willowpf.com/. I have beautiful pictures taken at their orchard from about a month before my first baby's birth, so it holds a particularly special place in my heart. Also, for a lot of local-food related options, check out http://www.getrealgetmaine.com/ - it has local CSAs, farmer's markets, pyo's etc.

The Unity Barn Raisers have put together a wonderful local food guide for anyone who lives in Central Maine. I think they considered proximity to Unity in terms of which towns to include. Not helpful to the original poster, but I thought someone else might find it helpful. It's great. Not just listings of farmer's markets and CSA's, but also where you can find locally raised meat and that type of thing.

It's on the sidebar under the link called "Local Food Guide: CSAs and Farmers Markets." Like, did you know that you get organic flours milled to order from Fiddler's Green Farm & Mill in Belfast? All sorts of fun and awesome resources in the guide.

You can also find a statewide directory of CSA farms at MOFGA's website (Maine Organic Farmer and Gardeners Association): http://www.mofga.org.

This is our first year doing a csa, so I have nothing to compare it to, but we have enjoyed ours: Laughing Stock Farm in Freeport.
