My first appt

We had our first appt today for infertility. Our Dr. had blood tests ran today & more blood tests in a week & wants DH to do a SA, also an xray with the dye(forgot the name & the paper is downstairs) after AF starts. I feel like we will go broke real quick. He said from there we will see what the news is & maybe IUI.

So what can I find out from these tests? How much can you find out from these?

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of doctor are you going to? DH and I are in the same boat as you, only we haven't gone to our appt. yet. We are meeting with an OBGYN.

I forgot what kind of Dr.? It is through Kaiser & it is through the fertility office but I can not remember exactly what kind.

You may find out your ovary reserve if they drew a FSH, and also your LH. They may have looked at your estrogen and thyroid levels too. The dye test will show and fallopian tube defects. The SA will be a great clue about what needs to be done. Many of these tests can be covered by insurance because they are diagnostic. Hope this helps!
