Breastfeeding after reduction?

I dont know if this would belong here... I have REALLY bad back problems. So much to the point where I have had to see a physical therapist for most of my pregnancy (both times). I am 35 weeks pregnant right now and plan to nurse until at LEAST a year. After Im all done with nursing I plan on getting a breast reduction. I dont plan on having any more children but seeing as Im still young, I might change my mind. Im really scared that if I get the reduction I woouldnt be able to nurse if I ever get pregnant again and I cant imagine not nursing my baby. At the same time, I dont think I can go without getting a reduction due to the constant pain I am in. Any positive stories about nursing after a reduction?

My aunt breastfed after she had breast implants, but I dont know if that would mean you could after a reduction. Best of luck though. Btw I have a lil boy named Rylan

I think it depends on how good the surgeon and how drastic the reduction. I have been wanting a reduction for years ( I am a 36/38 F) but I am not willing to risk it. I have two friends who have had reductions. One was not able to nurse after trying EVERYTHING. The other has nursed two, the first through her pregnancy for the second, with no issues at all. I know there are at least a few Mama's on here who have expereince with this.

Im a 36dd right now or at least squeezing into that bra size. I was a small 36d before my daughter and I had problems even then. I have a very small body frame so its just really hard on me. I guess I would just have to decide against anymore kids. I think the problem is how bad the nerves are severed?? Because they have to remove the nipple upward. Not sure.

There is no guarantee that you will or will not be able to nurse afterwards. I have looked into it & decided that I will wait although my breasts are the bane of my existence (I truly despise them - they're such a pain). Because they have to move the nipple depending on how you heal will determine whether or not nursing will be possible - it really has very little to do with how "drastic" the reduction is. It is more to do with whether the ducts are able to reform successfully, nerve damage & scar tissue growth.

If you think you are done I think I'd risk it - why by in daily pain just in case?
