Need ideas to make a cheap and supereasy baby knight costume

My kids are coming up with their All Saints' Day costumes. Michael is going to make a paper mache head and be St. Denis, Katie is going to make ping pong ball eyes and be St. Lucy, and Nicholas really wants to be a dragon, so I was going to dress Daniel, 17 months, up as a baby St. George. I'm thinking maybe I could do something with a hooded grey sweatshirt and maybe make a felt sword, but would love suggestions.

My friends and I once made a tin man costume by covering pieces of cardboard with aluminum foil and sticking them to a grey sweat suit. The same idea would work for a knight costume. A large rectangle for the front/chest plate, smaller ones to cover the arms and legs. Just don't put to many on the legs...my poor friend who wore the costume had a hard time going up and down steps You could make a sword and shield too!

Use the gray hooded sweatshirt as the chainmail, use a slightly oversized t-shirt with the sleeves cut off as a tabard, and just applique some kind of coat of arms, cross or whatever to the front of the t-shirt. It's fairly easy to hand applique fleece or felt.

Thanks! These are great ideas, and even I can manage them!
