Daily Chit-Chat Tuesday, October 21

Wow, it's 7 am central time and no new chit-chat thread?! I guess everyone is actually managing to get some sleep, or maybe off birthing babies.

I woke up an hour ago with an intense need to flip from laying on my left side to laying on my right side RIGHT THEN. It was weird. Am now having fairly frequent crampy-ish contractions. Still, I've just sent my husband off to work. I'd like to have to call him home, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Wow. Everyone must be having their babies... these daily threads are getting less and less populated!

lee I hope something may be going on for you!

AAM Feeling good. *Finally* had my good bathroom trip yesterday afternoon and felt way, way better after that Thanks for the potty vibes gals! I've already gone this morning too and feel blessed relief - hopefully I can keep regular until the babe comes.

Kids and I had a good day yesterday - I sewed them some beanbags which has them thrilled. I have a LLL meeting tonight and a friend and her DD coming to visit tomorrow morning (bringing homemade pizza yum, yum!) so I'm looking forward to those things to help pass the time. Going to try and make some playdough and run a couple errands with the kiddos today, other than that not much gong on here.

Hope you ladies are all enjoying or having your LO's (or keeping happy waiting!)

Hi everyone! I'm still here too.

Good luck Lee!

My task for the next week (unless babe decides to come this week, which would be great! but the EDD is 10/29) is to get this little one out of his/her posterior position.

Any advice out there or should I just do like 500 cat/cows a day? Oy.

Thanks folks - all your good thoughts are helping! At 41+4, I appear to have some bloody show. Hot damn.

Yay, Lee!!

I just lost my mucus plug about half an hour ago (and omg was it the most ridiculous amount of mucus I've ever seen in my life!!!! & bloody, yay!), at this late stage I really hope that means labor is right around the corner!

I hope everyone has a good day, I'm going to leave the house today rather then sit and stew & hope something happens!

Lurking around for labor news... good luck Megan and Lee, sending ELVs that I hope you're needing today or at least really soon.

Still preggo. Contractions last night for about 5 hours then petered out. Woken up by some intense ones during the night. But this morning I have had none. I have a chiro appt and a mw appt today. I am hoping that an adjustment and membrane sweep will help get things moving along.

Good luck to you mama's that are progressing!!! ELV's to you....

This is my current thing as well. Man, doing those exercises is tiring!

I finally have my home visit today! : It keep getting put off so here I sit at 39+3 and the day is finally here. But of course that means I have stuff to do around here to make sure the house is decently clean. And DS peed our bed last night so I have 3 extra loads of laundry to do. I had made our bed with 2 sets of sheets and a mattress protector in between so I wouldn't have to do that during labor. Well, apparently that mattress protector does not work very well because it went through a bit (not wet, but I can smell it). Now I have extra laundry to do and all that extra work was for nothing. Ugh.

Today's my due date!! : Still here and pregnant.

I'm a little bit scared though. Last Fri was sooo hard on me, especially emotionally and I think it may be happening again. I woke up at 4am to contractions again. They wouldn't ease up so I hopped in the tub a little after 5. I take HOT baths and during my bath I felt this odd sensation down below and when I put my hand in front of my vagina I felt what felt like cooler water coming out. I freaked out a bit, but let it slide. Then it happened again. So I hopped my fat butt on the side of the tub only to have some clear water rush out... But I couldn't 100% tell if it was water from the tub or my water breaking. After I got out of the tub I sat on the toilet and it happened again. I couldn't rush fast enough to grab the toilet paper to try and confirm which hole it was coming out of so I'm still a little confused. But since then it hasn't happened again so I'm thinking I was peeing without knowing it?? I was able to manage to go back to sleep around 6:30 (I briefly remember waking up and breathing through contractions) and then woke up right before 9 to more contractions that I hopped in the tub for yet again.

I doing everything I can to NOT encourage them or to NOT get my hopes up. I'm still having them so this makes 6 hours of contractions today so far. I'm sooo afraid of going through 14 more hours again only to have it fizzle out like last time. I don't know how I could handle that. So right now I'm not calling my husband at work, not calling my doula, and not calling my mom to come get my son. I'm just trying to work through the contractions which I just started timing and are about 2-3 mins apart. Ugh and I feel nauseous right after each one too. God I hope this isn't a repeat of Friday.

Oh my gosh, NDFanatik, I hope this is it for you! My contractions are coming about every 3-4 minutes apart and if this continues for hours then stops I suspect I'll become homicidal.

ETA: Isn't Amber Lion usually on by now?!

all of you mommas that are experiencing what sounds to me like labor, could you PLEASE send me some labor dust?!?!?! Today is 42 weeks.... or possibly according to my adjusted dd 40 weeks and 5 days!

oh, and I hope this is it for you!!!! I'm getting excited for the three of you!!!!!

She is usually on by now! Maybe we'll hear baby soon

Lee & Megan - things sound promising for you gals - sending good ELV's!!

Amy Lynn I really hope this is something real for you. Just take it as easy as possible. Are you able to do things through them? Maybe clean the house or bake something, or nap with your little man? Sing and dance with him? Just remember that even if they putter out they're still doing something to help your body get ready for your little lady. So many of our mamas who had tough prodromal labor have posted having sweet, easy birthing experiences. I hope the same turns out to be true for you. ELV's to you for now, I'm thinking of you!

Jenny on the bedwetting kid. All mine still bedwet and we're constantly doing extra sheets, uugh! Do enjoy your home visit tonight, they're always a treat!

Soogie hoping your appt. gets some things moving for you and your LO!

AAM has anyone else been getting cramps? I keep getting what literally feels like a muscle cramp (it doesnt' feel like a contraction) down low on my belly, near my hip bone. Maybe it's just b/c those muscles are so stretched out? They tend to happen most when I lie on that side (I get them on both sides). Anyways, nothing new for me, just hanging out being pregnant

Yeah, cause usually I eat my breakfast in front of the computer (cause I can't wait to read who had their baby)... but I actually had a leisurely breakfast this morning at the *table*, gasp! No baby action for me.... but I woke up this morning at about 7 and thought... Lee is SO having her baby today!!!! : Go Lee, go Lee!!!!! ELVs!!! ::

Kristen - I was having crampy muscle feelings, reminiscent of menstrual cramps, a lot in my lower belly until my doula suggested upping my water intake. Since then I haven't had them. I think my uterus was dehydrated. Also, my BH have been less uncomfortable. So, maybe try drinking more water?

Amy Lynn - Hoping this is it for you too!!! ELVs!!

Megan - ELVs to you too! Yeah for bloody show!

AAM: Had my prenatal last night and everything looks perfect. Midwives remarked to Dh while I was out of the room that I'm looking "more ready" than I have before, so that's good! I hated having everyone tell me I just didn't look "done enough". I checked my cervix yesterday too and it's definitely more effaced and open than it was last week, but I'm no pro so I've no idea how much. Progress is good though!

I'm in a good mood today and ok with baby coming whenever (funny how some days you're desperate and others you're ok) and I have some chores to do to keep me occupied, but my house isn't a depressing disaster anymore.

Well, ladies.. it's been about 6hrs since the lovely mucus plug thing and nothing! My doctor said yesterday that my cervix is ready to go, just need some contractions.. it's kinda frustrating! 40wks 4 days. Maybe tomorrow.. blah.

And good luck to everyone else who's contracting! I'm jealous!!

Ah! See, I eat my breakfast at the computer because I'm a lazy bugger.

And if I'd known all along that you'd know when I'd go into labor this past week would have been much easier... Glad to hear things are getting ready for you!

Still contracting over here. 3-5 minutes apart. Took a bath which spaced them out a little, but not much. Just talked to my midwife, and she thinks this probably is the real thing. They're not lasting for insanely long - say 30-45 seconds, but they're definitely more intense than they were this morning. I can still walk through the contractions, but would rather not. The husbandperson is still at work (teacher), but has notified the powers that be that he probably needs a substitute for tomorrow.
Blech... more than 10 hours of contractions now and they are slowing down... again. Anywhere from 6-9 minutes apart. Another effin false alarm. Still not sure what the heck was going on in the tub and whether or not I peed myself a lot or my water broke, but whatever. I give up, lol. My son needs to take a nap so I can too. This crap is exhausting. Let's see how often this happens until my VERY stubborn little girl decides to come... Anyone wanna place bets on how much longer she decides to stay in??
that's great Lee! :

Amber Lion - I've upped my water intake at your suggestion & I haven't had any crampiness today at all - I'm sort of sad about it to be honest, because I wanted something to be "happening." BUT if I was dehydrated, obviously that's better for me, babe, and the long run.

I never imagined becoming so freakin' impatient at 39 weeks. I'd really like to have the baby!
Amy Lynn - i'm sorry that's so frustrating - it really sounds like your water broke in the bath.
And also - I know this probably won't make you feel better because I totally understand how frustrating this is, but i wouldnt just call it a false alarm - probably your body's way of gearing up to do what it needs to do. So SOMETHING is happening, even if it's not actual active labor.
Right?
