Dyeing and excess

Can I save excess dye that hasn't been exhausted yet? Or is that one of those things that ages and just because I have green yarn today doesn't mean it will turn green again in 2 weeks?

I don't know, but if it's the Ashford dyes you're using I wouldn't trust the blue. I dyed the most beautiful sock blank in blues, greens and purples for the last MBOY, and the next day used the excess dye to kettle-dye some fibre like I've done a million times before. It came out a very muted, rusty shade of red and orange I wouldn't use it on anything expensive, put it that way.
