Help me figure out which Enya song this is please?

I'm not expecting anyone to figure this out, as I don't have much information to give--and I can't exactly hum it for you.

I used to listen to Enya all the time. I some how got away from it. I've been humming a song to dd since she was a newborn. It's an Enya song and I don't know which one.

The beginning starts out with humming. No music, just humming. I think eventually music kicks in and she hums more. It's 6 "hums" in a row. Break. Then 6 more "hums" with a different tone. Hum hum huuuuuuuum hum hum hum. It's 2 short hum's, 1 long hum and 3 short hums. I can't explain the tone of voice or anything.

It's almost like the tune of "rockabye and goodnight. Go to sleep little baby" (or how ever that song goes?). It's close to that tone.

Anyway. I always hum this to dd. It really soothes her when she's sick or overly tired. It's driving me crazy that I can't figure out this song. (It's probably some depressing song that I shouldn't even be humming to a baby--but it's the only humming rythm that comes to me quickly when I need to soothe baby).

Can anyone help?

Have you found it yet, now I'm curious! I've listened to every Enya song I can think of, and can't seem to figure it out!

Aw, thanks for your help guys.

Saphire, the first link is not the song And I don't have a microphone on this computer that I'm aware of (computer at work) to check that website!

I searched last night but couldn't find anything.

I owned 3 Enya albums (I still have them somewhere. I loose everything).

Watermark

Day without Rain

Paint the Sky with Stars

I searched for those album lyrics and listened to the instrumental ones but didn't find it.

I know it's Enya. It's her voice that I'm humming to. Maybe I had another album I'm not remembering. DD's dad and I always listened to Enya. I've hummed it to him and he can't figure it out either. Sigh. I'll keep searching.

If you go to amazon.com, you can usually listen to a sample portion of each song on the CD's they sell. That's how I found a song I was looking for one time.

Is it this one?: Enya-Boadicea
It's from her album 'The Celts', and one of my favorites

YES!!! : :

I noticed that song was an instrumental one last night but I couldn't get that song to play to hear it. I have problems with this computer. I couldn't play anything from youtube last night and soundwaves were hit and miss.

I'm so happy now : I just always hum that to dd. It's her soothing lullaby. I wanted to have the cd on hand for her.

Thanks so much!

Sorry about that, I rejected it because the versions I encountered all had the instrumentation right away. AutumnMama you rock!

I loooove that song. If you want a real trip, the Fugees sampled it in one of their songs. Let me see if I can find it -

Oh yes, here we go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUrJdf4PbEk

Weird, eh? I no likey so much, but it's still neat that a rap group can make an enya song work in their song.

My favourite Enya is Caribbean Blue! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae68NB-mOe4
The video is probably good, but I can't bring myself to watch it because I always have the strongest images in my head of being underwater when I listen to that song.

Wow, that was cool. I'm not a rap fan, but that was one I wouldn't mind listening to if it was on DH's playlist.

this is the one I was going to say as well.

ETA- and because we are sharing favorite Enya songs I just have to share mine! I go in spurts but currently it is this one.

Yay you found it!!! I knew what song it was just from the description but couldn't think of the name or I would posted it right away. I just found it now off of a music search engine and went to find this thread to post it. Enya is one of my favorite artists of all time. Her music is so powerful. I listened to a lot of it when I was pregnant with my first. To this day some of those songs bring tears to my eyes because it reminds me of those hugely emotional times (I was 17 and it was a very difficult situation).

My daughter has always been hard to soothe and from the time she was 6 weeks old we discovered that The River Sings off of the Amarantine album would immediately calm her down. I've literally had the song on repeat for hours in my car on car trips! She is three and still loves it and will ask to hear her song.

My son is 9 months old and it also works for him. I think it is the fast beat, yet is it soothing. Sort of like a heartbeat.

My favorite Enya song ever is "Storms in Africa." It's beautiful.
