The medical community is forcefully challenging HIV/Circ propaganda

Two new pieces of evidence against the circ/HIV propaganda were published in the South African Medical Journal

Study found no statistically significant correlation between circ and HIV:

Neonatal circ doesn't reduce HIV infection rates:

http://www.samj.org.za/index.php/samj/article/view/1811

And there's also an amazing editorial titled: Rolling out male circumcision as a mass HIV/AIDS intervention seems neither justified nor practicable

http://www.samj.org.za/index.php/sam...File/2734/2140

Quote:
Owing to the current climate of desperation
with regard to the HIV epidemic, evidence in favour of MC
frequently seems overstated. This reduces the scope for
informed consent and autonomy for adult men considering
the procedure. Further problems arise in the case of neonates
whose parents may be considering the procedure. Whereas
informed consent is at least possible for adult men, it is
clearly not possible for neonates.
Quote:
Despite a strong pro-circumcision lobby driven by
enthusiasts who have been promoting MC as an (HIV)
intervention for many years, and impatience expressed by
protagonists about the long delay after the 2006 - 2007 RCT
results and the UNAIDS/WHO policy recommendations8
of March 2007, few mass campaigns have been launched in
African countries
:

Spread the news and share this with as many people as you can. The HIV/Circ propaganda machine has a lot of power and money and it's important that people understand that this pro-circ lobby has ulterior motives.

??? Nobody's interested in this great news?!

This IS great news...but sadly, the mainstream media in the U.S. is too preoccupied with politics and the forthcoming election to even notice these studies, much less publicize them.: Hopefully, after the election this will get some distribution. Until then, it is up to "us" to spread the word.

Drs have been to quiet about these mass circ campaigns in Africa, and I'm starting to think that if I hear "well, the WHO thinks it's a good idea" one more time, I may start screaming.

Hopefully, more challenges will be forthcoming soon.

Seems fine to me. Did you know that you have to click on the 'pdf' link to see the full text? It's that way for all of them but the others have a bit of an abstract visible in the first link.
