Searching for a Midwife in West Chicagoland

Hi all! I was wondering if there were any good midwives in the west Chicagoland area? Somewhere near St. Charles and working out of either CDH or Delnor Hospital would be perfect!

I also need the practice to be size-friendly and willing to do waterbirths.

A friend of mine suggested Marla Ellis. Has anyone worked with her before? Would you recommend her?

Well if you are looking for a hospital birth, unless something has changed since CDH put up their new building, water births are out of the question there. They laughed at me 5 years ago when I asked about it.

If you are looking for waterbirth, your best bet is West Suburban with the midwives there. Not many hospitals near in Chicagoland allow waterbirth. I think Mercy in Aurora does, that is another option. Otherwise they are the only 2 I know of that do waterbirth other than the homebirth option.

I'm planning a waterbirth with a midwife at Rush Copley in Aurora. I'm seeing the midwives at Rush Copley OB/Gyn and they have been great!

If you go to Mercy, I recommend WomenFirst Midwifery.
