Stupid pregnancy cravings

I think I might kill someone if I can't eat cashews. : I'm over the whole dairy thing. Now all I can think about is shellfish and nuts- both of which I'm avoiding for ds2.

I have been off of nuts/seeds/dairy/eggs for 1.5 years for DS...but this pregnancy did me in. I actually bought a tin of cashews and almonds for my office and indulged until the craving subsided. Bad mommy. Luckily, the research I've done (extensive) is that avoiding nuts during pregnancy won't do much of anything to prevent allergies in the new babe....it just delays sensitization. Heck, there is a woman on POFAK who is severely allergic to peanuts/tree nuts, so she never ate them during pregnancy/breastfeeding and her kid is still allergic to those two foods without any sensitization.

Funny that cashews were both of our nut cravings!

ainh, I think shes nursing DS2, and thats why shes avoiding

JacquelineR! Pregnancy cravings are evil, I was vegan for a long time and when I got pregnant with DD1 just about all I could eat was mac and cheese from a box
Can you try some toasted/salted seeds? Maybe pumpkin? I know its not cashews, but if I crave something now that can't be recreated I try to find something in the same "category" (i.e. salty and crunchy)

Yes, I'm nursing ds2. He reacts to nuts through bm. I'm avoiding seafood in general just to be "safe" until he's 2 (well, I guess til the new LO is 2 now heh).
I was thinking maybe (shelled, salted) sunflower seeds, since that's actually how this cashew craving started. I started craving sunflower seeds last night but didn't mention it to dh since he refuses to go to the store for my cravings anyway(he doesn't realize that it's them not being fulfilled that's making me cranky and makes them even worse than they were). Somehow today it morphed into wanting cashews instead.
I've been having so many protein aversions (started with pork and recently added beef), I think that's what's causing the nut/seafood cravings.
I know all I seem to do on here is just complain about how hard I have it. I really am grateful our intolerances and allergies aren't as bad as some I've read about here, though I might not appear to be and I'm really grateful that I have people to turn to who understand.

Oh, pregnancy cravings are so stinking hard- especially if you are having aversions as well! How about some extra fat, that seems to help me w/ cravings-- just an idea..

Well, add chicken to my list of aversions. I warmed some up for ds1's lunch this morning and had to rush to the bathroom from the smell.
Wth am I going to eat?!
I kind of want avocados but anything "fatty" seems to upset my stomach. I've lost 3 pounds in the last week thanks to all these aversions (garlic, onion, ANY spices, along with the protein and fatty food aversions) and m/s. If I wasn't pregnant, I wouldn't mind the weight loss, but really..:

my whole 1st trimenster i was fantasizing about a big thick slice of fresh from the oven whole wheat bread. i have not thought abt it recently... but, man it still sounds good.

I don't know WHAT I would eat if I was preggo right now. All I could eat during the sick time was mac and cheese and other processed white crap and dairy. No whole grain anything, no veggies. Fruit was okay but not all of it. So...I totally sympathize and I'm very sorry about the chicken incident. I'll just send positive vibes for all sickness to go away soon so you can deal with any cravings better and at least be able to eat and be full with safe foods.

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone.
I "found" some sunflower seeds (I forgot I had some in my freezer for using in place of almond meal in recipes) and tossed them with some salt. They were so good but now I feel sick again (from the little bit of fat in them). This is getting annoying.
