Gift ideas for homecoming?

Some of our friends have gotten the call that they will be able to go get their little one very soon from India. She's 1.5, has spina bifida, and has been living in an orphanage.
What are some good ideas for the new family? I'm thinking premade casseroles they can just pop in the oven and clothing. Anything else? What's a great gift that'll really help them as they become a family?

Gift cards for clothing stores are great. It's often hard to determine the right size clothing for the child before you travel, so you need to do a lot of shopping afterwards. All the usual baby stuff like diapers, etc. Gift cards for take out are great too.

I know that you want a homecoming present, but how about putting together a bag of fun stuff to entertain the baby on the flight home? Board books, little magna doodles, and small toys. I know I would have loved that.

Another I can think of is maybe a gift subscription to Adoptive Families Magazine!

Diapers, diapers and more diapers. We go through more diapers then the average family because of bowel and bladder issues associated with Spina Bifida.

Toys that help with fine motor development. Spina Bifida can impair not only gross but fine motor development as well.

Music CD's

Tactile items. Children with SB tend to be very tactile oriented.
