Suggestions?? He's only two months old and I feel horrible. Not to mention it's so hard to take care of him when I feel so bad myself and he wants to cry for 5 hours.

Nasal saline for a stuffy nose is a HUGE help...just make sure you DO NOT get the nasal decongestant...just the saline. Just keep the baby's nose cleaned out so then the stuffiness does not interfere with nursing/sleeping. We just had a cold go through the ENTIRE house and the stuffiness was the hardest to combat. Good luck mama!!

Rowan has already had 2 or 3 colds (his siter is in preschool, so it's been a big germfest since September, and will be til, oh, forever)..so I feel your pain.
Also try elevating his head while sleeping, it definitely helps with congestion. Cool mist himidifier?

nak
bummer! i hope you all feel better quickly. if you're bfing, at least his immune system will get stronger with this early exposure.
we had a family cold when kai was 3 days old (guess who had to suck it up and take care of everyone... )
i did a saline dropper in his nose, which he seemed to know helped. so he would try to eye track it and give eye contact when he knew it was coming. bm in the nose, eyes, ears is always good. tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil in the vaporizer at night helped us all. chiropractic adjustments helped us all kick it out fast. we also had a homeopathic that dissolved like hyland's teething tablets, so we all took some. i'm too sleep deprived to remember the name right now, but i can check for you if you want to know.

Poor you and baby....Mr J has gotten a couple of colds already too. Everyone has great suggestions and someone I know IRL recently suggested another that I plan to try when Mr J gets his next cold. They said to put a little Vicks on my clothing near my shoulder where he can smell it (not in his face mind you) to help clear his nose a bit. Just try to feed baby as much as possible, and maybe if you have a humidifier it might help too? I hope you and baby are feeling better soon.
