I'd get it very wet, roll it in a wet towel (or possibly give it a thwack or two, actually) and start all over again.

Basically use the same technique you did the first time (only in the shape you're aiming for.) I'd block by saturating it, then spinning it in the washing machine to get most of the water out. Then lay it flat, nudging and tugging into the optimal shape. Good luck!

Not if you just do the spin cycle (not the wash cycle!)

No, the spinning won't felt it (it takes heat and agitation to felt it, spinnning is just fine since the garment basically stays in the same spot in the machine.) But it might get it a bit too dry to really be able to alter the shape much. I'd stand at the machine and take it after 5-10 seconds and feel it.
