could this be related?

On Tuesday morning, my son (turning 2 this weekend) got his first shot - DT. On Wednesday he had very frequent very soft (but not quite diarrhea-watery) stools and a fever, coupled with lethargy and a somewhat diminished appetite. He's normally a once-a-day kinda guy. Thursday he was fine.

Today (Friday) my daughter (3yo) is having very frequent very soft but not quite diarrhea-watery stools. No fever or other symptoms.

I thought only live-cell vaccines shed, but (sorry, tmi) the color, consistency and smell of her bms today match his from 2 days ago. I suppose it's possible that the gi symptoms are unrelated to the vax...

Thoughts?

I would say that since they both have the same symptoms, it's not related to the vax. It's much more likely he picked up a bug when he was at the dr GETTING the shot!!!

My youngest son received Synagis all last Winter (RSV immunoglobulin for high risk babies) and he got sick with an unrelated illness each time. My suspiscion is that his immune system was temporarily distracted by the Synagis (even though it is an immunoglobulin, not a vaccine) and he was temporarily more susceptible to picking up the little bugs hanging around the dr's office. He sometimes shared these little bugs with my older son, sometimes didn't.

sounds logical. I've been very wary of vaccines... I guess you just see what you expect to see (vax reactions, in this case)

There is a nasty stomach flu going around that starts gradually and progresses, my kids have it for 7 days and still watery stools and they stink and I ahve been so ill, I am leaving for the hospital in about a half hour I have been 6 for 6 days and I am 13 weeks preggo and puking and horrible diarrea, that started out gradually. So be careful and watch them for the next few days, but I wouldn't think it's from the vaccine since they both had it!
