Pepper & Clove Shaving Oil

My Dh is an afficiando of straight razor shaves. The last place he went to get shaved used a pepper and clove scented (maybe infused?) saving oil before they shaved him and he's been raving about how close a shave he got ever since.

I'm making fancy shaving kits for the men in my life for Christmas and I'd love to try to replicate it. Any hints? He said that the oil it's self felt thick and very emolient and clung to his hands when he touched it. I don't think it was an essential oil, so I'm wondering if I could infuse something like apricot or sweet almond oil with cloves and black pepper corns and maybe add some lanolin or something to thicken it and make it stickier?

Looks great...think I might order it for my DH too!

Thanks, Ladies. I am going to make a test batch in the next couple of weeks using sweet almond oil, lanolin, and infusing it with black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. I've got a bit of nag champa EO that I could add for fragrence, but I'll see what it looks like once it's infused for a month or so.

I found cinnamon oil to irritate my skin, I'd be careful when adding it to the mix.

I don't think I'm going to use a cinnamon EO, I'm just going to infuse the liquid oils with the spices. Hopefully, that should avoid reactions.
