Portable DVD player that plays US & European discs

Does anyone know of a dvd player that will play discs from both the US and Europe?

My in-laws frequently buy our ds dvd when they are in Germany but we've only been able to play them on dh's laptop. The last time we played one, the computer made him choose what format of discs it would read (US is region 1) and warned him that it was last time he could switch between the formats. Now we have nothing that will play our German discs. We're going to be buying a new portable dvd player for plane rides and were hoping to find one that plays more than just US dvds.

Any suggestions?

You could try googling and see if you can find a hack for the computer so it will play both regions. You could copy your movies region-free.

DH just told me that most portables can be hacked so they are dual region.
