MN resort recs?

I'm looking for a Minnesota resort for a family winter vacation.

This is what I'm looking for:

* Cabin or hotel room, with kitchenette.

* Lodge with fireplace for people to hang out, play games, etc.

* Restaurant and bar visited by the locals and guests.

* Groomed cross-country ski trails, and hills for sledding.

My Aunt and Uncle used to have a timeshare at Lutsen Mountain. Lots of fun winter activities and a fair bit of nightlife, too.

I haven't personally stayed there myself, but the Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria has ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobile rental, cc skiing, and a waterpark. I shouldn't have looked up there website. Now I want to go there!

I stayed at the Arrowwood during a student senate convention one year and it was LOVELY. Can't attest to the outdoor activities because we stayed indoors mostly, but the main lodge was beautiful.

The water park at arrow wood is great! They usually have package specials where if you get a room you get free passes. If you want skiing there is Andes Tower Hills about 15/20 minutes away and they have a great tubing hill as well. Let me know if you head this way and I can give you recommendations on where to go!

I was going to recommend Lutsen too. It was a family favorite when I was growing up. The lodge is full of classic charm with a homey gathering spot and dining room, but I don't think the rooms there have kitchenettes. They have condos by the ski hill, but it is more of a party feel over there.

I liked Lutsen too! We stayed at the cabins and skied out of the door.
