Adelh Muirrean was born into water at home at 5:45 pm on Saturday, October 25th, 2008 after 25 hours of labor. I'll update later with a birth story and some more pics, but here's one at least:

So really quick while the Daddy holds the sleeping boob satisfied little girl...
Contrx started mildly at about 5 pm and by 10:00 were 10 min apart pretty steadily. I had REALLY long contrx though; early labor ones were 2.5 minutes and they just grew from there. Labored all night on the birth ball with the help of my doula while Dh slept (he's still pretty ill) and by 9 the next morning I was ready for the tub and the midwives were arriving. Labored in the tub with bathroom breaks and with contractions getting longer and longer till my transition contractions were lasting 6-7 minutes at a time with little or no break in between. I got a little pushy and grunty, so I tried pushing, but it wasn't right. After a time I got my first vag check and I was only a stretchy 6! My midwives think I got pretty far, but not all the way, when I started pushing on an incomplete cervix and it swelled back shut a bit. So, back to breathing through contrx. I had a lot of vomitting during transition again (yeah, I got to do transition twice!
) but then I was complete (second vag check) and pushing for real. So much better! About 66 minutes total of pushing, but I birthed an acynclitic (sp?) head with a hand over her face without a tear! :
It's hard to find time to do anything but nurse, so when I get a chance I'll post a fuller story over in the birth story forum with some of the labor pics my doula took (she took an awesome video of the actual birth too!). You ladies were such inspiration during a very intense labor, I just kept thinking of you all and how you birthed your babes so I knew I could too. Probably won't be online much for a few more days, I'm enjoying a lot of skin to skin babymooning in bed and being spoiled by my Mom and Dh.
