Test results - private fax?

So, I'm filling out paperwork for my first appointment with an RE this week, and there's a sheet that's a release of results to a fax number. But DH and I don't have a "personal" fax number, and we wouldn't want something sent to our offices, really.

Would it be ok to use an internet fax number? I signed up for one that'll email me faxes, though it's a non-local number. Has anyone else done this?

I HATE waiting for test results, and hate even MORE when all I get back is a call from the doc, "Everything's normal." I want the actual data.

My DH has an eFax number and it is great because it just emails an image of the fax to his email address. He loves it. And it doesn't seem to be a big deal that it is not a local number.
