Adoption and Immunizing

Thread Starter
I am in the process of adopting a little boy who I have had in my care since birth. He has been receiving his immunizations because I don't have any authority to say no. That part "isn't" a problem. What is, is that as part of the matched homestudy, I have to have well checks for my other children. Once they were out of the system, I chose to stop vaxing them. A place for vaccines is included on the form. I have no desire to have something slow this process down any more. I am really ready for a break from the system(foster care that is). What would you do?

Our doctor wrote "no vaccinations per parental choice" on the form...it was not an issue at all. I live in a state that has very liberal vax exemptions, that may have helped.

We do a partial vax/delayed alternate schedule. Our dr wrote something that cold be interpreted however needed, trying to remember the exact wording, maybe "up to date as needed"? Our state also has fairly liberal policies, and I do WBC, etc. so there is a good papertrail. It also doesn't hurt that we have an almost 8y history with our ped. However, our adoption was not through the state, not sure if that makes a difference.

In our case, I called and talked to our social worker. I explained our exemption, and she said she didn't see a reason it would be an issue. And it wasn't.
