Tell me about couponing at CVS - Page 2

ECBs print immediatly. that's how I "roll" them to use on the next purchase. I'll often make 3 or 4 transactions at once to get and then use my ECBs

Oh yes, the ECBs that the example is referring to most certainly DO print out at the end of your receipt. Tons of people are taking advantage of the rolling of ECBs, and if you aren't, then you are missing out!

yeah dude, um I just checked out the sale paper for CVS there is just about nothing (as I expected) that I would buy. Except baking soda (but I'm not buying $20 worth for the deal) and tooth brushes (which i can get "free" after cupon from discount bins at the regular grocery store). I'll check out the next sale paper but I don't think this is worth it for everyone, even though I do have a CVS pretty close.

The deals at CVS aren't as great right now as when I first started paying attention back in October, for sure. I think with the holidays their business must be busier, and maybe they do better deals to draw people in at other times of year.

I don't know how anyone on this board could not benefit from getting things free, or being paid to take them out the door, which is the case if you have a manufacturers coupon in addition to CVS making the item free after ECBs. Some weeks are better than others. Just start paying attention to the ads, watching for the things that are free/darn cheap after ECB.

batteries, toothpaste, flossers, body wash, gum, razors, mouthwash, dish soap, deodorant... these are all things that I have accumulated in just a few weeks with very, very little out of pocket.

Do they have a similar program at Walgreen's? Or do you just have to get good deals on the things that are on sale?

I'd love to do this with Walgreen's, but the CVS is just too out of the way to make it worth it. And I actually do a lot of my toy shopping at Walgreen's - they always have great deals on K'nex, puzzles, coloring books, all kinds of stuff like that. Maybe I should start a separate Walgreen's thread!

Well I stand corrected!!!!!!
I guess I have never bought any of those instant ECB items so I've never had that happen to me. I have only gotten the 2% back every quarter. Needless to say, I will check it out!

I have recently gotten into couponing and I am a total convert. I want to make CVS my next place to learn at.

I do get things we don't really use, but I send them along to my local women's shelter.

For example, I just got about 15 tubes of Colgate. We use Tom's that I order from Frontier at co-op prices, but I know with the economy being what it is, the shelters and local organizations can use all the help they can get. It isn'tin our budget to give money, but I can certainly pass along free stuff from couponing! And I am learning better shopping skillz in the meantime.

OK so this thread is giving me the boost I need to venture into the CVS thing
The card and the ECBs seemed so confusing before, but your example really made it clear to me.
Thanks OP!

I am a total failure at CVS-ing. I don't buy stuff there often enough that I never get a chance to roll over my ECB. Once I even had it expired before I could use it. I know CVS does carry some stuff I use (like Tom's of Maine stuff), but I honestly never seen coupons or ECB for that.
