October 08 PP- getting back in shape!

I have no idea what the title should be as I know weight loss isn't everyones main goal. Here we go!!!

I'll start- I started on weight watchers at home nursing program yesterday but I didn't find time to work out like I'd hoped. I used almost all of my points but wasn't that hungry. As of yesterday I have 19 pounds to lose to get to my pre weight but overall, I need to loose 27 pounds to be at my weight loss goal. I'm hoping to lose the 19 by new years if that sounds reasonable?

I was gonna start one of these threads too but didn't know how well it would be received...

I have about 15 - 20 lbs to pre preggo weight (depending when during the day I weigh myself). I am hoping to be there, like you, at about new years or maybe by V-day

Unfortunately I have been way too exhausted to exercise but in the next week am going to force myself with at home workouts

Subbing! I have my "two week" check up in a few minutes here.. I'll be asking what I can start doing and when. I still have stitches down there so I haven't done anything on my own.

I'm ten pounds from pp weight, I don't want to lose all of it - heck, some of it is in my boobs anyway lol, and I need to keep some fat stores for nursing. But I'm ready to work out!!!

That makes a huge difference! I didn't have any tears at all and never actually pushed so not much swelling either. Make sure you start sloooooowly.
The annoying thing is that I tore right along the tear line from ds's birth. I wonder if I would have torn otherwise...

Woohoo have to love home visits! MW said I can start by walking, doing some leg lifts, and simple crunches. I just have a couple stitches that still need to dissolve and everything is healing up properly down there. Yay! She said by six weeks I can be back to my regular workout routine, just to take this next month and build up to it slowly. :

Oh I so need this thread! Thanks for starting it!

I'm still not eating "healthy" enough to really complain that my weightloss has come to a halt. I have 26 lbs to lose to get back to pre preg weight, but my goal right now isn't a weight/number. I just want to fit back into my pre preg jeans. I will lose 10 lbs by Thanksgiving, that is my plan, b/c I'm pretty sure that will get me back into my jeans!

Next week I should be getting the all clear to resume moderate exercise. My stitches are dissolved, my tears are healed (as far as I can tell/feel) and my bleeding has all but stopped except for minimal spotting.

I'm going to shoot for 2 nights a week at the gym, and one weekend day. Probably 30 min of cardio to start. Nora will be 1 month old and we'll be "reintroducing" the bottle soon, so I will tank her up before I leave, but Chris will be able to feed her if need be.

We can do this girls! We can rock it and be hot mamas! (as if we weren't already!)

iI'm also not too concerned with numbers on the scale - but having clothes that fit is another matter! Mainly my goal is to getback the muscle tone I had before - I know the "extra" on rear and thighs will work its way off. No dieting here, although I need to quit all the chocolate eating I've been doing lol. I am going to resume my walks every day (I stopped because after the last time I started bleeding heavily again) and work my way into jogging in a couple weeks. That should have me ready to get back to my running routine at the six week mark. I need to stay motivated and actually get out there while ds is in school. And when both kids are sleeping in the afternoons I'm going to incorporate the crunches and stuff she said I could do. My goal is to be able to get on this thread every day and be able to say I did something active.

Oooh...I'm so happy to see this thread!!

I weighed myself yesterday and I'm down to 154lbs, from 176 on the day I gave birth 13 days ago!! So now I have 19lbs to lose. I'm not doing anything yet, but I would like to start walking if I can manage to get out with both kiddos. I think I will break out my WW stuff today and just start paying attention to what I'm eating and see where it takes me

I stuck baby in the mai tei today and managed 20 minutes on the treadmill. And then I took some advil a few hours later because my back is freaking killing me. We'll have to work on that a bit...

I am in the same place. I am 3 weeks PP, and I could care less about the numbers on the scale or even my body measurements, I just don't have anything to wear. I bought a few outfits for when I go back to work in a few weeks, but I still only have 1 pair of jeans that fit- my biggest pair of maternity jeans. : (
I will admit, I was eating just about anything and everything towards the end of my pregnancy. I am happy to say my diet is MUCH healthier now, NO junk food! But every time I go on walks I tend to bleed more. I even bleed more from shopping or walking around the house straightening up and cooking. I'm just wondering:

How much longer until I can do my normal/ daily activities and fitness activities that I used to do?

I can't stand being this out of shape!

My mw said that by 6 weeks pp I could be back to my regular routine, but I think it depends on if you tore or not and what kind of birth you had, how traumatic to your girly parts, kwim?

Wow. So I did the crunches and leg lifts she said I could do today.. and while the crunches went fine, I definitely lost the muscle tone I had in my legs! Good grief! But.. it's a start!

I had 34 hours of labor- (but only about an hour of pushing.) The nurses tried to help stretch the area, but in the end the doctor still had to cut. The only real complication I had was my uterus wasn't contracting back down to a smaller size after delivery. The doctor said something about my blood wasn't clotting properly and they had to give me a shot to help my uterus contract properly also. (I bled a great deal until they gave me the shot.)

My stiches are healed at this point and I didn't bleed at all today, so maybe I'm closer to getting to be normal again?

I am so happy to see this thread! 2 weeks pp I'm back to exercising (except high impact aerobics, that's apparently a no no until my 6 week check up) and I actually did something more strenuous than walking the dog today. I had a pretty easy birth so I'm not too concerned with overdoing it or bothering my stitches, but I'm having trouble getting out of the house since DD tends to cluster feed at night which is when DH gets home. My goal is to get back to my pp weight (or less) by Valentine's Day. That's 11 lbs away so it's totally doable if I can stick with a schedule.
Woohoo I actually got up this morning and did crunches/leg lifts... now I"m pumped and I want to go for a walk but it's 48 outside and I don't have warm enough clothes for the baby - who would have thought we'd have weather in the 40's here in FL in October?

My elliptical isn't working. : I doubt it's the batteries because it usually beeps at me for that - I think it got jostled too much when we moved. Sigh.
I haven't done much in terms of exercise, but I changed a few key things that I've been eating. I switched to light soymilk from regular, had cereal for breakfast instead of my usual everything bagel with margarine and cream cheese, and had grilled veggie chicken strips instead of my normal breaded veggie chicken patty on a bun. I also picked up some good trail mix to snack on instead of chips. And I gave up soda and coffee, b/c I think they're bothering Nora, but I also know they're not good for me.

I saw a picture of myself and I do look like I need to lose 30 lbs, lol. I thought I was carrying the weight well, but yeah, nope.

I wore real jeans yesterday!!! They were given to me by a friend to use as transition pants and they actually fit!

Hey, where is everybody?!?

Just logging that I walked for 25 minutes yesterday. I put Nora in the stroller and walked briskly around the block twice. I was beat! But I'm more than ready to get back into a routine!

Me too. I have about 25 lbs to lose and I just saw some pix that confirmed it. I lost about 25 lbs the first wk pp but only maybe 1 lb/wk since. but, I went jogging today and yesterday! v slow, they were my first runs since I was 6 weeks preggo. it felt great to be out and i didn't do too bad, went 26 mon w/o walking today which surprised me.

I'm not really watching what I eat but I'm eating soooo much less than when I was preggo. I am thinking of joining ww online though. do people like it?
