I found out this morning that Lynn, mother of 4, passed away last night. She has been fighting liver cancer for over a year. She had just begun a new round of radiation and was doing well. But she suddenly took a turn for the worst.
Lynn's 4 children attend the same preschool/before and after school program my 2 little ones attend. She spent a lot of time there, and was a friend to the school's director. She knew all the kids by name, and they all loved her. This past spring the school dedicated their "Relay for Life" walk to Lynn.
The school's director will be calling a social worker, and putting together something to help all the children deal with their feelings once they know what happened. All these little ones will now know that sometimes, mommies die.
