Our fall apart books have changed as the boys have gotten older. We've been through so many well loved books.

I've found that collections of stories have been loved well here. So realizing I was already forgetting which books they enjoyed as babies I made an amazon list of our favorite "collection of stories" type books a while ago. Many of these are in the falling apart category here and they have all spanned a long age range--from say 2 to now (my boys are nearly 5).

One thing I suggest is checking out a lot of books at the library. When you find one that they love and keep re-reading and re-checking out get it!

My dd's are really into the Little House Chapter Books series - which are stories taken from the original Little House books. Like this one http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-Sister...5230220&sr=8-1.

They also like the My First Little House series, which are picture books of the stories. Like this one http://www.amazon.com/Summertime-Woo...5230320&sr=1-2.
