Looking for info on Maryland requirements

I can't seem to find any state codes or laws pertaining to refusing Vit K and eye ointment for a C-section. Does anybody know how to refuse these in this state or have experience doing it in Maryland?

i would think that if you let the pediatric team know your wishes ahead of time (generally they have a peds team in the OR attending the birth) and tell them that you wish to sign a waiver declining those things, there shouldn't be a problem. those two things are pretty easy to decline here in NM, but i don't know specifically for MD. it may be helpful to call the hospital and ask for the newborn nursery and then ask them how to arrange to make sure you have a waiver in your chart or in the OR at the time of your c/s. hth
