I just turned on Law and Order:SVU, and a woman is being arrested for homicide for infecting her daughter with HIV by breastfeeding her. The woman says she has an absolute right to BF her daughter, and they are making her out to be a crazy woman on the show.
Disclaimer: I've only watched a few minutes, and the show isn't over yet. But it pissed me off enough to post immediately!
Why oh why is this necessary? I assume you can indeed pass HIV through breastmilk, but there are millions of benefits to BFing and Law and Order had to find an obscure "danger" of BFing. Nice...
