Phylisophical vs Religious Exemptions

Phylisophical vs Religious exemption. I could easily claim Religious Exemption, however in NYS they don't allow selective vaccination.
Would a Phylisophical Exemption allow selective vaxs?
I am just curious because I saw the petition for the bill to pass. Also, if you have the ability for Religious Exemption, is it beneficial to try to Phylisophical as well?
Sorry if these questions are silly. I have lived overseas for 4 yrs and had no need. Now moving back to NYS and will need to have this info tucked away. We will homeschool for now, but if they go back to school I am not sure how to handle it.

Even if I had the option for a philosophical exemption I would use the religious one. To me a religious exemption is less likely to me challenged and protected by the our overall freedom of religion. A philosophical objection seems like it would hold less weight, especially here in NY where we have issues with the religious exemption.

I'd also only go with the religious exemption.

Do you have to tell the school that you do vax at all? Couldn't you just claim religious exemption, say they haven't had any vaxes and leave that part of the paperwork blank? I don't know if that is an option or not, but I'd look into how much info they absolutely have to have.

Yes.
Religious exemption speaks to the practice of vaccination, while personal/philo exemption concerns individual vaccines.

Me too ... but I AM opposed to the practice of vaccination. A selective vaxer would have a much easier time in NYS if we had philo exemption available.

In NYS, the state vaccine registry is available to schools and there is no opt-out anymore. They can easily see if you are selectively vaxing and deny your exemption.

I will personally always use a religious exemption.

BUT I will back any movements to add philo. exemptions where there are none.

It's better for vaccine choice to have a philo exemption available. SOME states have philo exemptions that allow selective vaccination. Some philo exemptions do not.
