Any links to patterns for leftover yarn (I'm talking less than one skein)? I love to knit little bitty things, and I have lots of partial skeins.

I was just thinking of this last night. I think I am going to make a crazy quilt out of different squars in different stitches.

Look at the photos of the kids they sent the dolls to. http://www.creativestitchonline.com/dollgallery.html One little boy has his in a back-carry, in the back of his t-shirt. So cute!

I was going to post a link to my toy patterns, almost all of which use small amounts of yarn and can be varied, but man oh man the photo of the kid in the fatigues holding a doll made me misty-eyed. No, everyone should make some of those instead and change a kid's life. That kid could just be wearing that shirt for no reason, but we know that a lot of kids in war-torn countries get nabbed and forced to be soldiers and it really messes them up. Imagine how their lives could be helped by having a small doll to care for. Wow. I'm very moved.
Thank you so much for posting that link.

I'm going to start knitting all my small bits of leftover yarn into I-cord, then, when I have enough--might take awhile-- I'm going to use a big fat needles to knit the I-cord into a bag of some type.

My SIL makes dozens (upon dozens) of little knit caps for NICU babies. She got the pattern from a hospital organization so you might call the HR folks at your local med center or support group for NICU parents to see if they would use these caps.
Oh, it takes more yarn, but this same program makes knit blankets for parents to use while staying at the NICU, and "sets" of knit hat/blanket/teddy bear for gifting to families who have babies that are born still.
