Other than pregnancy, why would AF go MIA?

I'm on day 72 of my cycle. I feel like crap today, but I don't think I'm pregnant. I have not yet taken a test, but my last few cycles have been crazy and this just seems like an extension of that.

Here's the low down. My nursling just turned 3 and only nurses to sleep and sometimes when he wakes up. I got AF back when he was 15 months old and had fairly regular, if long, cycles since then. They were mostly between 40 and 45 days long and in the begining I was temping and paying close attention to my cycle and I was definitely ovulating. These were long cycles, but about normal for me pre-children and pre BCPs. Then two cycles ago, I had a 66 day cycle. I took a couple of pregnancy tests, even though DH and I had used protection through the whole cycle without any oopsies (condoms). I finally got AF and it was horrendous. My next cycle was average for me at 38 days, and then now I'm on day 72. My last AF came on August 19th. What the hell is going on? I will definitely take a test in the next few days although, again, we used protection everytime.

You could have ovulated really late.
You could have an anov. cycle.
You could have an ovarian cyst. Even if you know when you o'ed, this can push af back.

This happened to me. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. AF is still really irregular but seems to be better with certain herbs. Red Clover worked the best. In fact, I've gotten pregnant within months of using it regularly. I went from being told that I could never have children to having 3. This was after 8 AIs that didn't work.

Thanks everyone. Seapixie, I've considered that I might have developed PCOS. I have a lot of other symptoms that seem related to it.
