I just thought you'd appreciate the fact that quite the 'nod' was given to tandem-nursing the other week after the Breastfeeding Challenge here in Montréal : a FULL-PAGE photo of my girls and I, tandem-nursing, appeared in a major Montréal newspaper here ! Anna (left) has just turned 5 (!), and Sophie (right) is now 20 months.
Check it out here :

(you can click on the 'magnify' button at right and "click and drag" to read the text of the (French) article, if you like )
Let's just say it sends a powerful, concise visual message, promoting breastfeeding, child-led weaning and tandem-nursing --in one fell swoop :-)
The Montréal site 'won' the world-wide Challenge yet again, having the largest number of nurslings (515) all latched on in one place, at one time. No quote from me was included in the (tiny) article, and the photo is surely enough for anyone flipping through the Montréal paper to do a double-take. o_O
Ah, well - whatever it takes to send the message out that breastfeeding (and not just babies, but BIG kids, too) anywhere --everywhere-- is NORMAL !
Evidently, I am more than happy to do my bit, and "bear my breasts" in THIS way - a reminder to all that the *primary* function of breasts is to nourish our kids. : )
[and you'll note that my hubby didn't seem to be too bothered, either ; ) ]
Enjoy ! and HIP, HIP HOORAY for tandem-nursing & child-led weaning !
