Equate Pregnancy Test - what is it? Help!

Hi... okay, I threw out the instructions months ago and I can't find anything on the web.

What does Two Solid Vertical lines mean? I have the test strip that says it should be:

+ I = Pregnant
- I = Not Pregnant.

But I have two bold verticals (II). A very faint gray horizontal line came in after a about thirty seconds, but not as bold as the two vertical lines, very faint.

Probably should have tested in the morning, as it is, I tested about ten minutes ago at 5 p.m.

Help!

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, what you wrote is correct. This happened to me when I was pregnant last time. The horizontal line was really faint but the vertical lines were really dark. A couple people told me that a reason could be that there is only a certain amount of dye in the test so if the the vertical lines take up all the dye then the other will be faint. I bought a different brand of test and tried it to verify and it was a BFP too.

Thanks! That sounds possible. The two verticle lines were bold as day and they came fast. I remember in the past when I tested I'd get the bold horizontal line and a really faint vertical line, but it was always negative. This time it's in reverse.

Okay... I'm not going to get excited yet. We've been trying for 2 1/2 years, so I know enough to not start jumping for joy. Staying calm... it's hard... but I'm staying calm...

I know if I was in your shoes, I'd be on the way to the store getting a different test.

Unfortunately, a grey line could also be an evaporative line or faulty test, meaning a BFN.

But, I hope it is just a funny looking BFP!!!

Good Luck!!!

I got that same result and he is sleeping right now. The vertical showed with no horizontal. But the horizontal part is what indicates it is negative,KWIM. So I would be hopeful!

Thanks for the responses.

I just tested again and... this time I have a clear PLUS sign in the first window.

Oh my gawd! I can't wrap my mind around this right now. I just had a HSG test this month (day 7) and I felt like a hormone got knocked loose =) I was so seriously emotional. I remember telling my husband I wish it would go away. I also have been feeling a bit nauseas, but only for like 5 minutes at a time and then it goes away. I'm 5 days late, but I thought that might be because of the HSG test.

We've been trying for 2 1/2 years (read: 2 1/2 years of disappointment) so I'm actually afraid to get excited... maybe I'm not reading this right. I haven't told my husband because he gets real excited and I hate to see him disappointed, so I can't ask him to help clarify the results.

I'm on my way to the store to get another test so I can test in the morning when my levels are higher, and then I'll call the doctor.

Wow... I'm speechless... I feel like I'm dreaming.

Thank you!

Thank you!!

I'm back from the store with another pack of tests for tomorrow and two pairs of booties - one pink and one blue. I thought I would tell my husband tomorrow (he's working late on a project now so he's not home, which is good so I can think about this). I thought I would give him the booties in a small gift bag. Any suggestions? I remember in the past how excited he'd get, I can't imagine what it will be like now that it's for real. He's going to be equally excited that he doesn't have to go for another SA on Wednesday! We had just started seeing a RE at the end of September and all of our test results were good, guess it just took the HSG to clear things out.

I keep staring at the results Wow. That's all I can say.

ck1, I practically cried reading your posts! I am so happy for you!! Not only are you pregnant, but you're so pregnant that the test line sucked all the dye away from the control line!

: Let us know what your dh says!

congratulations :

I was coming in, though too late I see , to say that any two vertical lines on any kind of test is a positive. doesn't matter if it's a || test or a +- test.

how exciting

I could not sleep all night! I feel so... different

I tested this morning and the biggest BFP yet! Woohoo: I'm excited now. I also called the doctor and have an appointment for Nov. 12th.

Thanks for all of the good wishes. I've been lurking on this website for a couple years just waiting for this moment.

I haven't told DH yet. The odd thing is he's being really, really nice to me (not that he normally isn't), but it's like he knows something even though there's no possible way he could. He said tonight we could do whatever I wanted... I told him to be home by 5, that's when I'm going to tell him.

I'll let you all know how it goes
