Looking for new article about the father's role in infant development

Hi All,

I heard on NPR that there was/is a new study that found (I'm trying hard not to be sarcastic here) that fathers are important for proper cognitive development in infants. I am looking for that article or the source of it. Did anyone else hear about it?

If not, do you really think that fathers matter even if the kid is too young to drive a car or hit a baseball? Gosh, I guess I didn't waste all that time spent playing with my kids when they were infants. I knew I could be pounding nails or changing the oil in my pickup, but something inside me told me that nothing on earth was more important than the time I spent with my kids!

I am not sure if this is the story you are talking about but this segment is about fathers as the primary caretalers. It aired on NPR in June of 2001 during Talk of the Nation.
