I think making the whole room red would be too much. Nor would I allow an 18mo to select a paint color.
Maybe do white with red trim, or paint a rainbow on the walls? Or do each wall a different color? |

I had a red living room and dining room at the old house and after a year, it was just too much. Plus, it will shrink the room a TON. I'd go with an actual rainbow swirled around the walls with white background or large colorful polka dots on a white background. FUN.

I think red is fine for a playroom.
Maybe you could paint one wall red and the others neutral or do red on the top or bottom of the walls and a neutral, like khaki, on the other part. You could choose a deeper red instead of bright fire engine red. You could do red on 3 walls and then do a multicolor wall like this or with red, green, brown and tan squares like this rug. |
Awwww, yeah and my husband and I have done far too much hating on pink. We've been forcing it upon ourselves to try to feel the love

I temporarily moved some of his things that are red and green in the new room and taped a red napkin to the wall to get a feel for the combo. Still not sure.

I would not give him/her free reign with the paint chips. Nope. Sorry.

: Thanks for making me think about it!
