What are you taking that's safe while nursing?

And how is it working for you? What side effects have you noticed? I've been on Prozac once before and it worked well for me, but I don't know if it's safe while nursing. I've also been on Zoloft and didn't like it so well. It didn't seem to be as effective and I had the dreaded sexual side effects. So please talk to me about your anti-depressant.

I've been on Zoloft for both episodes of ppd. First time around, it didn't work. Second time, it has. I do have horrific sexual side effects, though.

I'm pretty sure that all of the ssri's are okay while nursing. You can make an appt. with a pdoc and check. Zoloft could be different this time around, you never know. Prozac is okay, and so is wellbutrin,I think.

Talk to a psychitrist NOT your ob or family doc. They know the meds best.

I'm still nursing and I've been on Zoloft for 14 months, since DD was just over a year... no side effects once I got past the initial two weeks. Those two weeks sucked though!!
