Today DD Kinder class celebrated the October birthdays. I was asked to bring snacks. THe have a no cand/sweets policy for snacks except the once a month birthday celebration. SO I had to decide what to bring. Most of the time the parents bring in cupcakes but my DD dislikes those she doesn't really like cake cookies ect. I always put eaither fresh fruit or crackers and cheese in her snack box because thats what she eats. So I had to decide to I like bring cut up fruit because thats what my DD likes or like the sweets after all this is a special occasiona and celebrting all October birthdays not just myDD. SO courious what would you have done?

I would have taken what my kid likes, and assumed the other parents would do the same.

I would have brought cut up fruit and a sweet baked goodie.

Ideally I would have done this but is was way too expensive. I ended up bringing some M&M chocolate chip cookies and white grape juice . They were a big hit even with DD (suprised at that) I knew there was no allergy restriction with anyone as well.

Well it did turn out I could have with out any guilt. THey do one birthday celebration a month for all the kids having birthdays for that month so I was thinking something that all kids celebrating would like but it turned out the only other kids with an October birthday moved a few weeks ago so my DD was it. .. Oh well they still thought it was cool and suprisingly even my DD ate her cookie and asked for another at home.

I have found that fruit kabobs are especially fun for treats. They are really fun to eat and look really cool. Just watch for the inevitable swordfights at the end!

I second the fruit kabobs! One child at preschool, who had just come back from Hawaii, brought pineapple and banana pieces sprinkled with coconut on a skewer. It was really popular! Blueberry muffins always seem good, too. They look enough like cupcakes, but aren't as sweet.
