Nursing strike???

I have a 6.5 month old son who has been having lots of trouble nursing lately. I returned to work about 2 months ago. I usually wake up at 5:30 a.m., pump, nurse my son for 30 minutes, and head out to work. While he's with the sitter (8:45-4:00) he has two 7.5 oz. bottles (slow flow nipples). He also has about 3 T. of organic rice cereal in the afternoon after his second bottle. We started introducing pureed vegetables two weeks ago (squash, carrots, sweet potatoes). We were feeding him about 1-2 T. in the evening before bed, but I just stopped a few days ago when I noticed he didn't want to nurse in the evenings any longer.

Usually, I'll nurse him twice after we get home; however, lately he's been refusing the breast. The last two nights I've hardly been able to keep him latched for more than 5 minutes at a time; he gets super fussy and screams when I try to nurse him. He seems hungry but won't eat. The odd thing is that he'll sleep from 8:00 p.m. until I wake him up at 5:45 a.m. to feed the following morning. I should also add that he's teething right now. I'm concerned that he's not getting enough to eat--he's only 16 pounds but is really long. So, how do I get him to nurse in the evenings? Should I just give him a bottle at night too? I don't want to become an exclusive e'per if I don't have to--help!

No advice but my LO is refusing the breast at certain times of the day too....she is only 3 months though. This has all coincided with teething symptoms.

Hugs to you mama-

Update

I spoke with a lactation counselor and she assured my it was from teething. He's back to normal now and is feeding like a champ. I did notice if I fed him while he was sleepy he ate much better.:
