Homeschooling in the western burbs?

Hi all, I'm thinking about starting to homeschool my little friends, but I'm not quite ready to do it yet. I'm especially concerned with finding a supportive group of similar families as my daughter is very social and pulling her out of pre-school without a social outlet planned would be very difficult for her. Especially since I feel several of her friends families would not be supportive of our decision and not encourage playdates.

I want to find a secular homeschooling group that would welcome a couple of great kids and their daft but determined mama.

I do know that there is a large homeschooling network in our area but it does tend to go the religious way a bit.
