Hi,
I'm a volunteer with Choices In Childbirth in NYC. In November we are organizing an informational meeting for expectant parents about pelvic floor care. One of the topics that will be addressed is pelvic floor injuries and how a subsequent vaginal birth is possible without a recurring injury. We would love to introduce a mother who can speak alittle about having given birth and had a 4th degree tear (repaired) that went on to have another vaginal birth with no pelvic floor injury. It seems to be the consensus amongst OB/GYNs and Colo-rectal surgeons that it cannot be done and that these mothers should have a c-section for all subsequent births. From reading thousands of posts from mothers I know that it can be done. Please contact me and be an example for future NYC mothers on 11/17th at our informational meeting. We would love to hear what you did to prepare, and what was different the second time around that you believe helped you avoid a tear.
